We use a simple hold-to-verify check to protect iDOFF from automated bots and spam registrations.
Find the verification box
On the registration form, look for the red-bordered box that says "Hold to verify you're human".
Press and hold
Click and hold (or tap and hold on mobile) the box for 3–4 seconds. A green bar will fill from left to right.
Release when full
Once the bar is completely filled, the box turns green and shows a checkmark. You're verified!
Submit your form
The "Create account" button will become active and you can complete your registration.
Traditional CAPTCHAs (like "select all traffic lights") are frustrating and often inaccessible. Our hold-to-verify approach is:
The bar resets when I release early
You need to hold continuously for the full 3 seconds without releasing. Try again and keep holding until the bar is completely full.
It's not working on my phone
Use a single finger tap and hold. Make sure you're pressing directly on the verification box. Avoid scrolling while holding.
The button is still greyed out
Make sure the verification box shows a green checkmark before trying to submit. If it's still not working, try refreshing the page.
I'm using a keyboard / assistive technology
You can focus the verification box using Tab and then press and hold the Space or Enter key for 3 seconds.
